Mangalad is a small locality, interior to Vadakara, in North Malabar. A family set out from this place,in the first quarter of twentieth century, has established itself as Mangalat. Two bothers came to Mahe, then a french enclave in western coast. Their sucessors are known as Mangalat.
Over the years the family has branched out and many of the members are living in the different parts of the world, engaged in diverse kinds of activities. Some are writers and some others are government officials. This web space intend to bring informations about them for easy access. |

വടകരയ്ക്കു് വടക്കു് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ചെറിയ ഗ്രാമമാണു് മംഗലാട്. ഇരുപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ തുടക്കത്തില്‍ ഇവിടെ നിന്നും പുറപ്പെട്ട ഒരു കുടുംബമാണ് മംഗലാട്ട് എന്ന പേരില്‍ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നതു്. രണ്ടു് സഹോദരന്മാര്‍ അക്കാലത്തു് പടിഞ്ഞാറന്‍ തീരത്തെ ഫ്രഞ്ചധീനപ്രദേശമായിരുന്ന മയ്യഴിയിലെത്തി. അവരുടെ പിന്മുറക്കാര്‍ മംഗലാട്ട് എന്ന കുടുംബപ്പേരില്‍ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു. കാലക്രമത്തില്‍ അവരുടെ പിന്‍ഗാമികള്‍ പലകുടുംബങ്ങളായി പിരിഞ്ഞു,ലോകത്തിന്റെ നാനാഭാഗങ്ങളിലായി ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ പല മേഖലകളില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നു. ചിലര്‍ എഴുത്തുകാരാണ്, മറ്റു ചിലര്‍ സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നു,
